Outdoor Adventures

Grades Completed: 6-8  

Class #410: June 17-21, 9am-12pm*  (Students should arrive at 8:00 am on Monday, June 17, in order to welcome the Japanese students when they arrive.)

Location: Lux Middle School  

Fee: $20 Bus

Experience Nebraska! On Monday and Tuesday, students will travel by bus to Holmes Lake to learn fishing basics with fishing rods donated by Scheels. Bait your line for a chance to catch the big one! On Wednesday and Thursday, travel by bus to the Maas Farm in Denton for a hands-on ranch experience. Activities may include a hayrack tour, shearing sheep, feeding and caring for the livestock and the basics of raising and riding bulls. On Friday, you will summarize and share your experiences with your family.

*Please note that this class has a varying schedule in order to accommodate field trips and picking up the Japanese students at their dorms:
Monday, June 17: students arrive at Lux 8:00 am
Tuesday, June 18: buses depart Lux at 8:45 am
Wednesday, June 19: buses depart Lux at 8:00 am
Thursday, June 20: buses depart Lux at 8:00 am
