Pedal Power: Tackle the Trails – NEW!
Grades Completed: 6-8
Camp #832: July 11-15, 9am-12pm
Location: Outdoor Adventures Center at UNL
Fee: $20 Facility
The trails are open and ready to ride! Spend a week enjoying the fresh air, developing your riding skills and building your confidence on trails (closed course, a single track and the streets of Lincoln). This is an activity-based class and we will plan to ride between 7-14 miles (11-22km) each day. We plan to ride from campus to different city parks. Learn about the ABC Quick Check, how to change a tire and basic bike maintenance skills as you develop riding skills for transportation and recreation. Students must bring a bicycle and helmet (a multiple-speed bike is recommended). A water bottle and cycling gloves are also recommended. Students may leave their bikes onsite for the duration of the camp if desired. Bikes may also be dropped off the Sunday before camp if arrangements are made with Outdoor Adventures staff.
Taught by Kyle Hansen, Outdoor Adventures Coordinator and Experiential Educator
Camp sponsored by Hugo A. and Thelma Aspegren Charitable Trust.
