Build your skills and open the door to become a life-long lover of aquatic paddle sports. Learn how to control a kayak and then further develop your skills and comfort in the boat by playing games. Discover how to paddle when conditions are not always favorable and take a turn at maneuvering canoes and stand up paddle boards. On Monday the camp will take place in the Southeast High School pool to help you become comfortable with kayaks and to introduce general paddle skills. Tuesday through Friday, we will be at Holmes Lake to practice with the added challenge of wind and waves. The closing ceremony will be held at Holmes Lake at 11 a.m. on Friday and all are welcome. In case of inclement weather, camp will be held at the Southeast High School pool. Please note: This is a water sport. Students should be comfortable in and around water. Life jackets and all equipment will be provided. Students are required to wear a properly fitted life jacket during camp. Bring a towel, wear shoes that can get wet or sandals with straps, and wear clothing you would be comfortable swimming in.
