Outdoor Adventures

Grades Completed: 6-8  

Camp #510: June 15-19, 9am-12pm*  (Students should arrive at 8:00 am on Monday, June 15, in order to welcome the Japanese students when they arrive.)

Location: Lux Middle School  

Fee: $20 Bus

Experience Nebraska! On Monday and Tuesday, students will travel by bus to Holmes Lake to learn fishing basics with fishing rods donated by Scheels. Bait your line for a chance to catch the big one! On Wednesday and Thursday, travel by bus to the Maas Farm in Denton for a hands-on experience. Activities may include a hayrack tour, feeding and caring for the livestock and the basics of raising and riding bulls. On Friday, you will summarize and share your experiences with your family. Please review the behavioral expectations for those who ride Bright Lights buses before registering.

*Please note that this class has a varying schedule in order to accommodate field trips and picking up the Japanese students at their dorms:
Monday, June 15: students arrive at Lux 8:00 am
Tuesday, June 16: buses depart Lux at 8:45 am
Wednesday, June 17: buses depart Lux at 8:00 am
Thursday, June 18: buses depart Lux at 8:00 am
