Recruiting 2014 Teachers

If you have a passion for teaching and a creative idea for a class, we would love to have you join the Bright Lights team!

Bright Lights is currently recruiting dedicated and outstanding individuals to become a part of our summer 2014 teaching staff. This program has been a community tradition for 27 seasons of summer learning classes for students post-kindergarten through post-ninth grade. With over 120 classes offered each summer, we are always looking for enthusiastic teachers to create new classes or to teach previously taught classes from provided lesson plans.

Here are a few of the details…
A teaching certificate is not required. Approximately one-third of our teachers are community members who have a passion that they wish to share with students. The remaining two-thirds teach at local elementary, secondary and post-secondary institutions.

The schedule is flexible. You may choose to work mornings from 9:00-noon or afternoons from 1:00-4:00 during one of the program weeks: June 2-6, June 16-20 or July 7-11.

Earn summer pay. Teachers are paid based on 15 hours of student contact and the number of students in their class.

All candidates are interviewed and background checks are completed for candidates who are not currently employed by a school system.
