TEDxYouth is an event that strives to re-create the unique experience found at TED, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers congregate to share what they are most passionate about. At its core, the fundamental goal of TED and TEDxYouth@Lincoln is to foster and spread great ideas and create community where civil discussions can occur. The organization aims to provide a platform where youth who are thinkers, visionaries and learners will be inspired and have the opportunity to inspire others.
The conference will be held on August 17th, 2013 at the Ted Sorenson Theatre at Lincoln High School, 2229 "J" Street, starting at 10:00 am, and will be centered around the theme Unleash Brilliance. The diverse group of people present will be able to learn from one another, both as speakers and as attendees and will leave the conference driven to creatively improve our collective future. We will stream the event across Nebraska to several locations, and a live feed will be broadcast and available worldwide as a link from their inspirations on Saturday, August 17 starting at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln High School.
The format will be a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances on a wide range of subjects relating to the theme, "Unleash Brilliance" to foster learning, inspiration and wonder. During interactive breaks, the halls will be filled with activities that allow the audience participants to more fully engage with the subject matter of the talks, and areas to congregate and interact will be used to provoke conversations that matter. Also, be entertained by live youth performances combining dance, music and art.
