With the support and dedication of the community, Bright Lights has become a vital part of summer programming, serving elementary and middle school students. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), this hometown, home-grown organization is challenged to meet the costs of operations. Bright Lights is not tax or United Way supported. The tuition charge covers approximately 54 percent of the operating expenses. Forty-three percent of the income comes from families, individuals, businesses, service organizations, foundations and corporations. Background checks, classroom rental, teacher pay, classroom supplies for more than 100 classes, snacks, need-based scholarships, a summer health technician, postage, database management, printing and bus transportation from low-income schools are among the operating costs. Bright Lights also depends on volunteers to help keep costs low.
While Bright Lights offers valuable experiences for children, support from you is needed to guarantee the continuation of Bright Lights' diverse, quality programs. Help maintain Lincoln's quality family lifestyle by sharing your resources of time and/or money. Become a Friend of Bright Lights today!
