ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES
Age limits listed for classes and day camps must be observed. Enroll by grade completed for the current school year. Example: If a student is finishing (or has just finished) third grade, s/he may take any classes listed as, or including, Post 3.
GENERAL REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION
- Only MAIL-IN REGISTRATIONS will be accepted beginning April 1. Send the completed registration form with full payment to the address stated on form. No walk-in registration will be held.
- Register early to avoid disappointment! Class size is limited to 15-18 students in most cases. Listing alternate class choices will allow immediate placement of your student in case first-choice classes are full. (You will be notified if alternate placement is made.)
- Registration remains open until one week before class begins for classes with openings.
- Additional registration forms may be photo-copied or printed from this website beginning April 1.
- Classes/day camps with insufficient enrollment by 4/23/08 (elementary) and 5/15/08 (middle school) will be canceled. If possible, when a class or camp is canceled, students will be placed in their alternate choice and notified immediately. Otherwise, you will receive a full refund.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Need-based scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each applicant is eligible for one partial scholarship for either a class or a day camp. The first deadline for application is mid-April; the second deadline is mid-May. Please see the Scholarship Application form for further instructions when registering.
CHILDREN OF MILITARY DEPLOYED PARENTS
Military deployments are affecting families throughout Nebraska and have far reaching effects. Bright Lights would like to honor the children who have fathers or mothers deployed to active duty with a 1/2 price discount on one class. Simply send a copy of a valid military dependent identification card with the registration and payment and include the name of the person deployed, date deployed and unit name/number.
EXPECTATIONS
- To ensure high quality of instruction, and with due respect to our teachers and location providers, students must dress and behave appropriately.
- Anti-Bullying Policy: Bright Lights provides physically safe and emotionally secure environments for all students and staff. Positive behaviors (non-violence, cooperation, teamwork, understanding and acceptance of others) are encouraged in the program and are required of all staff. Inappropriate behaviors, including but not limited to bullying, intimidation and harassment, must be avoided by students and staff.
- Good behavior at community site classes is essential. Bright Lights students are guests.
- Custodial parents with court-ordered custody issues that would affect your student during Bright Lights should contact Kathy Hanrath at the BL office, 420-1115 X 41, prior to June 1.
FEES/PAYMENT/REFUNDS
- Tuition: half-day class $95; full-day camp $190; before care $15; supervised lunch care $10
- ADDITIONAL FEES APPLY TO SOME CLASSES. Check the course description.
- Payment of all fees is due with registration. Class space is reserved upon receipt of postmarked registration with full payment.
- If an alternate class placement creates a refund of $10 or less, it will be credited as a donation unless you contact us for a refund. All overpayments will be credited as donations.
- A minimum of $20 per student will be charged if a student withdraws from a class or camp. After May 31, no refunds will be issued.
- Bright Lights, Inc. Federal I.D.#47-0708499.
